Yesterday I had a girls' day in Cincinnati with my dear friends Rachael and Abby. Before we dove into thrifting, we spent over half our day at the West Chester IKEA maneuvering through the labyrinth they call a store. This was my first trip to IKEA and I'll talk about my thoughts in a later post (preview: I wasn't impressed). Luckily we were able to escape unscathed and we headed off to thrift...
Value Thrift Store
9988-10050 U.S. 42
Cincinnati, OH
This place seemed promising. The store had a variety of items in good condition. The atmosphere was bustling with a large crowd but I think it was because it was the after work rush. I would definitely check-out this place again.
St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store
9864 Reading Road
Cincinnati, OH 45241
I found this place dark, claustrophobic and a bit dingy. Their items were not remarkable and not in the best of condition. The prices were reasonable and if you are the type to buy items that need some mending this is a good place to go.
Goodwill
10600 Springfield Pike
Cincinnati, OH 45215-1184
By far the best place we went to on our trip. It was very spacious and bright in the building. They had a huge stock of nicely cleaned items. The prices were OK. They seemed a bit jacked up for my taste. I'm accustomed to the $5 and under deals of a smaller city but just because I'm an El-cheapo doesn't mean there aren't great deals at this store. Check out the Cincinanti Goodwill website for promotions. From what I can tell they have some really good deals.

If you know of any more thrift places that are worth checking out in Cincinnati, let me know!
i do!!! i swear, the best thrift store in cincinnati is the st. vincent de paul on beechmont (in anderson). they have everything organized by size, it's not too massive to be overwhelming, and it seems like they are pickier about the things they keep. plus, there is a small goodwill boutique right next door which is kind of fun (but a little more expensive). i always find j.crew there, which is my favorite :)
ReplyDeletesorry for the massive comment! i googled "thrift store cincinnati" blogs and i found this entry and i was super excited.

Thanks! I post about Dayton fairly often. But I'm trying to learn all the great places to check out all over Southern Ohio, so I'm glad I can read your blog for all the places in Cincy! I love that Cincy is a short drive away from Dayton. You should totally take a day trip to Dayton. Oregon District is the best and first Friday is tomorrow which has a ton of stuff to do. Here's a link about it

Awesome! Also check out the Cannery area. I've been meaning to go to a place called Basically British where they offer a British tea experience. Also the 2nd Street Market is great! Venders sell fresh flowers and produce and there are a bunch of food places (I recommend the place that has the Gyros). Oh and there is Carillon Park which is nice for a picnic. Man, I'm thinking of so much that I also need to go to. I'll have to post about all these places some time. Anyway, I hope you have a great time!
ReplyDeletethank you!!! i did! maybe sometime we could do some dayton thrifting together lol.
