SoOh Sighting: The National

I heard this song the other night and I thought I just  post the song for some general Ohio  lovebut low and behold Wikipedia tells me The National formed in Cincinnati. The lead singer Matt Beriniger has a baritone voice that is pretty alluring to say the least. Here are the lyrics. If anyone wants to comment on what they think this song means I love to get a discussion going!

Stand up straight at the foot of your love
I'll lift my shirt up
Stand up straight at the foot of your love
I'll lift my shirt up

I was carried to Ohio in a swarm of bees
I never married but Ohio don't remember me

Lay my head on the hood of your car
I take it too far
Lay my head on the hood of your car
I take it too far

I still owe money to the money to the money I owe
I never thought about love
When I thought about home
I still owe money to the money to the money I owe
The floors are falling out from everybody I know

I'm on a bloodbuzz
Yes I am
I'm on a blood buzz
I'm on a bloodbuzz
God I am
I'm on a blood buzz

I was carried to Ohio in a swarm of bees
I never married but Ohio don't remember me

I still owe money to the money to the money I owe
I never thought about love
When I thought about home
I still owe money to the money to the money I owe
The floors are falling out from everybody I know

I'm on a bloodbuzz
Yes I am
I'm on a blood... buzz
I'm on a bloodbuzz
God I am
I'm on a blood... buzz

The photo you see above is the cutie cute Ukulele (can you guess what the design is of?) I bought for my adorable 7 year old niece. I bought it for her on her birthday and I'm hoping it will be the gift that inspires her to get into music. She also requested it because her favorite show plays it in its opening credits. I knew there was a musical instrument store nearby but I was surprised and delighted to see their selection of Ukuleles. They sold Stagg Ukuleles that had really neat designs on them and were a great deal. They only had two but they restocked frequently. I did have to explain to my niece that this was NOT a toy and that it is a real instrument to learn on. She took to it well and Kyle (he's a great guitar player!) taught her one chord from the show. Enough about us though, the store was great and sold a wide variety of instruments; drums, guitars, mandolins, you name it. The person in the store was very knowledgeable and helped us a lot. Giving your business to a local musical instrument store feels great and if you call Dayton your home (or are visiting) you should definitely buy from here.
