Projects at I Love SoOh

It's been so great getting to know other folks who support the Southern Ohio region but I feel as though I've just seen the tip of the iceberg! In order to learn more about the community, I'm working on a few projects that I hope will take off and help me discover more about the area and share it here at my blog. So here are the list of my projects:

I'm working on finding folks who live and work in Southern Ohio and featuring them at I Love SoOh I want to feature Southern Ohio denizens' shops, blogs, creative pursuits, you name it! The interview will involve their work and life in Southern Ohio. If you are interested or you know someone that would be interested, email me at bethany@ilovesooh.com and I'll get back with you.

Blogroll

I'm always looking for blogs to add to my blogroll that have SoOh Love (Southern Ohio Love). You can see the Blogroll in the sidebar. I just added a few more so be sure to check them out. And please share your Southern Ohio related blogs here or email me at bethany@ilovesooh.com.

Forum or Dance Dance Dance

This is more of a personal interest of mine but it is certainly SoOh related. I want to find venues and events that involve electronic dance music. I find it to be the most fun music to dance too and Kyle and I would often have a great time at BSide in Northeast Ohio. It was a place for mostly nerds to go to dance and it didn't have the pressure of some clubs/bar which are usually full of high-heeled girls and difficult music to dance to (i.e. alternative rock, country and rap). Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with that, I just prefer wearing jeans, sneakers and dancing to phat beats. Places that play MGMT, Miike Snow, Passion Pit, and Total Science are really fun to me. So anyway, the issue now is that Southern Ohio (specifically the Dayton scene) does not seem very organized. There are a few soruces; EDM Ohio, Electronic Music Fans in Dayton but it seems that events are posted irregularly or on the same day of the event. I want to try and help promote and find events before the day of, thus I'm adding a "forum" for people to promote their DJ events and in fact it will be a section that people who can promote whatever event they want around Southern Ohio. I'll keep my eye on it and highlight the best of the postings. Hopefully this will encourage people to share more.

Ideas?

When I started this blog I never expected to get plugged in with other people who care about the area. But now that I've started to and I realize that I can help get the word out I'm excited to try new things to help the cause! And if you have any ideas about what I could do at the blog, please share them with me. I love trying new things out and I love SoOh!
