DIY Secret Santa Card or Watch out American Greetings

It's Secret Santa time around my office...yea know, that wonderfully awkward time of year when you get to show your co-workers how little you know them with cheap knickknack gifts. If I sound less than thrilled it's probably because I'm not that great of a gifter. And on top of lacking in the gift skills department, there's the tight budget to contend with. BUT despite all that, I was actually able to come up with something I'm fairly pleased with. AND I also diy-ed a Secret Santa card that I fancy in all it's cheesy, crafty glory.

Cover features a sailboat. The sail is made out of wrapping paper (the same I used to wrap one of my gifts) and the rest of the boat is drawn. It reads:

"Santa's on vacation this year..."

Insides reads

"...so he sent me instead! HAPPY HOLIDAYS"

Yup, I came up with that clever copy all by myself...watch out America Greetings, Southern Ohio might get it's own greeting card company! (tongue in cheek)

I came up with this serendipitously which is when the best crafts are made, amirite? I was wrapping my gift and I had this triangle piece left over that kept staring into my soul, which is why I had to use it for something. I think the copy fits well for the occasion...Secret Santa, Santa is on vacation, implies I'm Santa...get it?

It's cheesey, crafty and a bit silly but if it adds some levity and chuckles then it's well worth looking like a dork.

Anyone else having a Secret Santa at their office? If you've already had it, please share what you got and/or gave. I would also love to hear what some of the worst gifts were so I could avoid them :)
