For what it's worth, Cincinnati is having their ATP World Tour. Sadly my favorite player, Serena Williams, is not in it but there is still a lot of great tennis playing to be seen. I would love to go next year and if anyone out there has gone this year, please share!
I went to the ATP Tennis Tournament this past Friday, and it was a great time. There were some new additions to the tournament, including a brand new entrance (not going to lie, I actually got a little lost). There were new vendors such as the Svedka Vodka Lounge, which was pretty swanky, and it seemed like the venue was completely packed. The best part about the ATP Tour has to be the "wow" factor that one of the largest tennis tournaments in the world (I believe it is the fifth largest) is located in Mason, Ohio. It also has a much different vibe than any other sporting event, as there isn't typically a "home team". Even though we are rooting for USA, if the opponents are not from the good ole USA, we still cheer for them. And if they lose, it is not a soul-crushing lost (enter: Cincinnati Bengals) where we dwell on it for years to come. Next year, you'll have to check it out!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the info! I did go once a while ago with a friend and my friend got a fantastic photo of Andy Roddick (I think when we saw him he was just starting at 19?). It sounds like it has gotten even bigger since I went. I'll definitely make it a point to go next year!
